With financial support from the [[wikipedia:National_Lottery_Heritage_Fund|National Heritage Lottery Fund]], [[wikipedia:Garfield_Weston_Foundation|Garfield Weston Foundation]], and the [[wikipedia:Joseph_Rowntree_Foundation|Joseph Rowntree Foundation]], &#039;&#039;Sweet Legacies&#039;&#039; extended creative community egnagement beyond the theatre&#039;s ongoing [[York Theatre Royal Community Productions|community production]], &#039;&#039;His Last Report&#039;&#039;. &amp;quot;The idea for the project really came from the theatre’s aspiration to look at how the community production for 2025 could expand to reach more people across the city and be as accessible as possible&amp;quot;.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/25303620.sweet-legacies-community-project-york-theatre-royal/ York Press]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; Both &#039;&#039;His Last Report&#039;&#039; and &#039;&#039;Sweet Legacies&#039;&#039; were inspired by the city of York&#039;s history with the [[wikipedia:Rowntree&#039;s|Rowntree&#039;s]] confectionery company and the legacy of the [[wikipedia:Poverty,_A_Study_of_Town_Life|poverty reports]] produced by [[wikipedia:Seebohm_Rowntree|Seebohm Rowntree]] in the 20th Century.  &lt;br /&gt;

Between January and August of 2025, Sweet Legacies worked with more than 20 local and regional community groups.
