== History ==
In 1989, Max Wölfl founded the Statt-Theater Vegesack with Gerd Linke and other theatre enthusiasts from Bremen North. The aim of this non-profit association is to continuously offer challenging theatre plays for Bremen-North. The theatre association receives no public funding and is financed exclusively by membership fees, entrance fees and donations.With more than 100 theatre productions since its foundation, the association has significantly enriched the cultural landscape of Bremen-North. “The Landesverband Bremer Amateurtheater” developed 1963 through the state association “Bremer Volksbühnenspieler”. In the beginning there were thirteen theater groups who voluntarily fused together.
