The Anzinger Theaterverein e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Anzing in the district of Ebersberg, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1976, it stages a comedy in Bavarian dialect each November in the parish hall in Anzing and had 47 members.[1]
History
Theatre had been played in Anzing long before the association existed: in the 1930s plays such as Das Findelkind and Lumpazivagabundus were staged in the Neuwirtssaal, and after the Second World War the young men's association (Burschenverein) and then the sports club kept the tradition going in the Finauersaal, with Max Böhm as director, set builder, actor and make-up artist. After a last production, Die zwei Schwerhörigen, in 1956, there was no theatre in Anzing for many years.[2]
In 1975 four women, Rosmarie Finauer, Rosmarie Baumann, Bärbl Haimmerer and Christl Niederreiter, took the initiative for a new group. Its first production, Franz Schaurer's No amoi a Lausbua sei, premiered on 20 November 1976; a fourth performance had to be added, and the Ebersberger Zeitung praised the players' ability. The association was founded on 21 December 1976 as the Anzinger Laienspielgruppe.[2]
Repertoire
The association says it is committed to Bavarian folk theatre, dialect and customs, and stages one new play each year.[1] Its list of productions runs without gaps from 1976 to 2019 (with no performance in 1999); Franz Schaurer became the group's favourite author.[3][2]
