According to the Traunsteiner Tagblatt, theatre activity in Eisenärzt was first recorded in 1848 in the records of the local private ironworks company (Privat-Eisenhammer-Gewerkschaft), and the minute books of village clubs mention plays and shepherds' plays up to 1931. In 1933, under the Nazi Gleichschaltung laws, the theatre groups of the Arztberger costume club and the Catholic young men's association were merged, and 24 founding members under chairman Johann Dufter formed the Eisenärzter Theatergesellschaft; at the time this was described as a re-founding. The association marked its 90th anniversary in 2023.[1]
Repertoire
