The Sportlerbühne Bergkirchen (Bergkirchner Sportlerbühne) is the amateur theatre section of the sports club TSV Bergkirchen in Bergkirchen in the district of Dachau, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1998, it stages a three-act Bavarian comedy each year and has a children's and youth theatre.[1]

History

Theatre had a long tradition in the TSV Bergkirchen: after a break during the Second World War a group of players formed again, but its traces were later lost, and in the 1970s club members began performing one-act plays at the club's Christmas parties. When the new clubhouse was completed in 1996, the adjoining Maisachhalle was renovated and given a stage. On 14 September 1998 members founded the Sportlerbühne Bergkirchen as a new section of the club, with Roland Valentin as head of section and Gabi Märkl as director. Its first piece, the one-act play Ein Engel mit zwei Putzlappen, was performed at the Christmas party in December 1998.[1]

The section joined the Verband Bayerischer Amateurtheater e. V. in 1999, the year of its first three-act play, Ulla Kling's rural farce Der Gockel-Kriag, which premiered to a sold-out house. A children's and youth theatre was started in 2001; from 2006 it also gave a theatre afternoon each spring. In 2009 the group presented interactive theatre for the first time with Einmal nicht aufgepasst. The new sports hall, with a new stage for the theatre section, was opened on 3 March 2024.[1]
