History
Since its founding in 1987 the association has used theatre and circus education to support children and young people in their development. In 2017 the theatre educator Nicole Wehrmann took over its artistic direction.[1]
Activities
The association runs eight theatre and circus groups that meet on weekdays, and also offers workshops, trips and events. Its members take part in choosing and staging the plays and circus shows. It aims to be open to all children and young people regardless of social situation, origin, faith or sexuality, which it supports through low fees.[1] It also offers bookable workshops and shows, including fire shows, light shows and circus shows, and walking acts by its actors.[2]
Organisation
The Coburger Kinder- und Jugendtheater is a member of the Coburg city youth council (Stadtjugendring).[1]
