Die Künstlerwerkstatt e. V. is an amateur musical and theatre association based in Stegaurach near Bamberg, Upper Franconia, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 2004, it stages musicals, musical galas and spoken plays, mostly in the Bürgersaal in Stegaurach.[1]
History
The association was founded on 18 January 2004 in Stegaurach with the aim of giving interested people the chance to experience and help shape the world of the stage, both on stage and behind the scenes, and of introducing children and young people to the performing arts.[2] By 2026 it had mounted 29 productions and had about 50 members, amateur singers, dancers and actors who work in other professions during the day. Besides the Bürgersaal in Stegaurach it occasionally performs at other venues in and around Bamberg.[1]
Repertoire
The repertoire combines musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair and Rent, with plays such as Wer hat Angst vor Virginia Woolf? and Der Vorname, as well as galas presenting songs from several musicals.[1][3]
