G.T.E.V. "Almarausch" Emmering e. V. (Gebirgstrachten-Erhaltungs-Verein) is a traditional costume association (Tracht society) in Emmering in the district of Ebersberg, Upper Bavaria, Germany, whose theatre group stages Bavarian rural comedies and folk plays. The association was founded on 6 August 1932 at the Neuwirt inn in Emmering.[1]

History

The association takes pride in Josef Vogl, the founder of the first Tracht association in Bavaria, who was born in Emmering on 22 August 1848. It has been a member of the Bayerischer Inngau-Trachtenverband since 1947 and has its own youth centre (Trachtenjugendheim).[1]

Theatre has been played in the association since 1950, at first at Easter and Christmas. After a production of Jennerweins Ende in Advent 1969 there were no performances until 1984, when a new theatre group was formed.[2] In February 2015 the association celebrated 65 years of theatre and 30 years of the new theatre group with a party in the Landgasthof Bruckhof.[3]

Repertoire

The theatre group staged 67 productions from 1950 to 2026. Until 1969 the group played at Easter and Christmas, from 1984 to 1999 in Advent, and since 2001 in autumn. No production took place in 1991 and 2000, nor in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[2]
