The Innauenbühne Stammham e. V. (also written Innauen-Bühne Stammham) is an amateur theatre group in Stammham on the Inn, in the Altötting district of Upper Bavaria, Germany. Theatre has been played in Stammham since 1969; the association in its present form has existed since 1994.[1] The group stages Bavarian comedies and rural farces each spring at the village inn, the Dorfwirt.[2][3]
History
The first performance in Stammham was the one-act play D'Nagelschuah, staged on 7 December 1969 at the Nikolaus celebration of the sports club TSV Stammham in the hall of the inn now known as the Dorfwirt.[4] The "Laienspielgruppe des TSV Stammham" played until 1978; from 1980 the group appeared as "Die Innauenbühne des TSV Stammham", and since the founding of the association in 1994 the productions have been staged by the Innauenbühne Stammham e. V., starting in 1995.[5][6][7] A youth group staged short plays between 2011 and 2014.[8]
The association marked its 20th anniversary from 3 to 5 October 2014 with a festive evening attended by more than 200 people in Stammham's multi-purpose hall and a guest performance by the Munich Iberlbühne.[9][10] During the COVID-19 pandemic, following an order of the Altötting district office, the group cancelled its performances and did not play again until 2023; it returned in spring 2023 with Die Apollonia-Glocke after a three-year break.[11][12] In November 2023 the association had 123 members.[13]
Repertoire
The group plays full-length comedies in Bavarian dialect, mostly rural farces (Schwank, ländliches Lustspiel) and Bavarian comedies; authors staged repeatedly include Peter Landstorfer and Ulla Kling. It describes its focus as elaborate stage sets, occasionally with secondary stages, lighting effects and music.[1] Since 2015 it has also organised a Bunter Abend, an autumn variety evening with one-act plays, sketches, music and dance.[14][13]
