History
The group was founded in 1980 and opened its first season in 1980/81 with a programme of three short plays.[1] In 2014 the Verband Bayerischer Amateurtheater reported that it had 90 members, 36 of whom had belonged to the group for 25 years or more;[2] by 2026 the group gave its membership as 100.[1]
Besides its regular comedies, the group twice staged a historical play about Bridget of Sweden, the Birgittenspiel "Schauplatz der Tugend", in 1994 and 2005.[3][4] The seasons of 2020 and 2021 were cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic; performances resumed in 2022.[1]
Repertoire
In its first decade the group usually presented two or three shorter plays per season; since 1990/91 it has staged a single play per season, with five to seven performances each.[1] The theatre evenings are opened by a small group of local musicians.[4]
