History
The group was founded in December 1982 in the parish centre of St. Georg in Milbertshofen as the Theatergruppe der Jugend (youth theatre group); some years later it became the registered association Milbertshofener Bühne München e. V. Two founding members were still active in the 2020s, one of whom has been the group's director since 2008.[1]
The 2022 season was cancelled during rehearsals because of the COVID-19 pandemic; the group returned in November 2023 with QuadratRatschnSchlamassl by Ralph Wallner. The 2024 season was cancelled for lack of actors. In 2025 the group lost its previous venue and moved to the parish hall of St. Georg, where it staged Die Mafia ist überall; Achtung – Bär by Reto Gmür, in a Bavarian adaptation by Wigg Wimmer, followed in autumn 2026.[3][4]
Repertoire
The group mostly plays comedies and rural farces in Bavarian dialect, one new play each year, occasionally reviving earlier productions.[1][2] The 2024 season was cancelled.[1][3]
