The Neufinsinger Theaterkastl e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Neufinsing, part of the municipality of Finsing in the district of Erding, Upper Bavaria, Germany. It grew out of the theatre section of the local young men's association (Burschenverein) and has staged a Bavarian comedy almost every autumn since 1990; a children's and youth group also performs.[1][2]

History

In 1988 Markus Mayer, then chairman of the Burschenverein Neufinsing, looked for members willing to stage a play for the association's annual dinner. Despite scepticism among the members, he staged the one-act play Warnung vor dem Hund in February 1989, which was well received and marked the birth of the "Theater" group within the Burschenverein. In June 1990 preparations began for the first official three-act play, Der dalkete Bua, directed by Armin Binder, who led the group until 1995; he was succeeded by Franz X. Peischl.[2]

In 1993 the Burschenverein changed its statute so that women and former members could also join the theatre section. A youth group gave its first performance, Toni und seine 3 Frauen, at a wine festival in 1995. As the section grew and its productions became more elaborate, the double administration within one association proved cumbersome, and in 2002 the members decided to split into two associations. The Burschenverein continues to handle the stage technology for the productions, and the theatre members help at its festivals.[2]

Repertoire

The adult ensemble stages one Bavarian comedy each autumn, performed six times in late October and early November.[1] The tables follow the group's own lists; there were no adult productions in 2020 and 2021.[3]
