History

The association was founded in 1992 by 20 people who had discovered acting in the Pfarrkirchen rural youth movement (Landjugend) and were growing out of youth age. Franz Schuldhaus served as chairman and director for 19 years, and according to the club was known for his perfectionism, his craftsmanship and his willingness to stage modern and socially critical plays. Its first three productions were comedies by Ulla Kling: Mama macht mobil (1992), Wenn des bloß guat geht (1993) and Sei doch ned so dumm (1994). Membership grew within a few years from 20 to more than 100.[1]

For its tenth anniversary in 2002 the club presented a "best of" evening, Theaterkraut und Bühnenruam, with performers of all ages. This was the forerunner of the Theater-Cocktail, a programme of sketches, fairy tales, dance and musical numbers first held in 2005 and for the ninth time in 2017, the year in which the club staged its 25th spring play.[1]

Repertoire

The repertoire ranges from Bavarian folk plays and comedies to sketches, fairy tales, Christmas plays, dance and musicals.[1] For spring 2026 the club staged Boandlgeheimnis and Sterm is ned leicht.[2] Its youth section, which has supplied many of the leading actors of the spring productions, also appears regularly at the open-air theatre in Massing and at Christmas markets, and the club takes part in carnival parades in the Rottal-Inn district.[2][1]
