The StadlTheater Hattenhofen e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Hattenhofen, district of Fürstenfeldbruck, Bavaria, Germany. It grew out of a play staged for the municipality's 950th anniversary in 2015, was founded as an association in 2016 and performs a three-act Bavarian comedy every spring in the converted barn (Stadl) of the Hillmayr family, from which it takes its name.[1][2]
History
For the 950th anniversary celebrations of Hattenhofen in 2015, theatre enthusiasts from the local sports club, rifle club and choral society joined forces to stage a play together. After its success they decided to perform the next three-act play jointly as well, and in early 2016, during the run of that second production, they founded their own association.[1][3] The StadlTheater Hattenhofen was founded on 17 March 2016 by 53 founding members and joined the Verband Bayerischer Amateurtheater e. V. on 1 April 2016.[3] Its first production as an association, Achim Pöschl's Sog niamois nia (2016), was rehearsed and staged by the actors collectively without a director, which the Bavarian state theatre director (Landesspielleiter) Gerhard Berger noted with surprise in his review; the author attended the premiere.[3] Advance sales of 500 tickets for the four performances were reported before the premiere.[2]
Repertoire
The group stages one Bavarian comedy each spring and does not intend to limit itself to traditional rural farce.[3]
