History
Theatre in Münsterhausen is first mentioned in the chronicle of the market town in 1911; for many years it was kept up by various local clubs. In 2003 the Theaterfreunde Münsterhausen e. V. was founded as a separate association devoted to theatre as a local custom and to the cultural life of the village.[2] The association marked 100 years of theatre tradition in Münsterhausen with a ceremony in 2011, and later 110 years.[3]
Repertoire
The group produces one play a year with about ten performances. Since its foundation it has concentrated on humorous plays in Swabian dialect, increasingly choosing contemporary pieces; the 2026 production in January was a crime comedy in three acts.[2][4]
Venue
Performances take place in the Catholic parish hall (Katholisches Pfarrheim), Kirchenstraße 15, in Münsterhausen, with tiered seating installed for the theatre days.[5]
