History
The group was founded in 2005 by a theatre pedagogue who directed it for 13 years, until 2017; since 2018 it has been led by another theatre pedagogue and director.[1] One of its early pieces, Wie war's? (2006), marked ten years of the Aktive Ältere programme at the vhs Neuwied.[2] The piece Volle Fahrt voraus!, developed with the group, was published by the Plausus theatre publishing house and presented on SWR Fernsehen in 2014.[1]
After Tapetenwechsel (2017), the group worked for a long time on a piece called Unter einem Dach, which it then shelved. Rehearsals for its next own production, Theater mit Kater, based on Ludwig Tieck's comedy Der gestiefelte Kater, were drawn out by the COVID-19 pandemic, during which the group partly rehearsed at a distance and online.[3] In March 2022 the ensemble, which has had twelve players since 2021, reported that it was still working on the piece.[4]
Repertoire
The group stages mostly its own productions and scene collages, often based on fairy tales, short stories or texts by humorists, and has also worked with dance theatre, movement theatre and clowning.[2]
