Troschenreuther Mundarttheater e. V. is an amateur theatre group in Troschenreuth, a village in the town of Pegnitz, district of Bayreuth, Upper Franconia, Germany. Founded in 1999, it stages comedies in Franconian dialect, often its own adaptations of well-known plays and films, in the hall of the Gasthaus Zum Roten Ochsen.[1][2]
History
Theatre in Troschenreuth goes back to the 1940s. The club was founded on 23 October 1999 by 13 theatre enthusiasts at the Gasthaus „Zum roten Ochsen“. Its first production as a club, a completely reworked version of Ray Cooney and John Chapman's Und das am Hochzeitsmorgen, drew more than 1,300 spectators to eight performances, a record also counting the group's performances before the club was founded.[1]
Repertoire
In 2025 the club staged Das perfekte Geheimnis, a stage version of Paolo Genovese's film Perfetti sconosciuti, with eight actors under director Marcus Leclaire; it premiered on 15 March 2025.[3] The club also hosts guest performances, such as concerts by Franconian folk musicians.[4]
