The Weydhauser Fähnlein is a historical reenactment and performance association in Waidhaus, district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. It portrays a rural company of foot soldiers (Fähnlein) with its baggage train from the time of the Thirty Years' War, with authentic clothing, weapons and equipment.[1]

History

Before the association was founded, its members had appeared at festivals and parades in Thirty Years' War costume since 2008. As an association it has about 60 members and takes part in camps and other events beyond Waidhaus.[1] It celebrated its tenth anniversary on 17 June 2023 with a historical garden party at the Gasthaus Pfälzerhof in Waidhaus; its chairman Andreas Ringholz appears as captain Georg Tumbky.[2]

Organisation

In May 2019 the association hosted a weekend course of the Verband Bayerischer Amateurtheater e. V. in Waidhaus on stage combat with rapier, dagger and buckler, aimed at a stage show for the historical festival planned in Waidhaus for 2021 and at a first short scene at the baroque camp of the Amberger Welttheater in Amberg.[3]
