Die Knollestromber e. V. is an amateur theatre group in Nisterau in the Westerwald, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It grew out of a theatre group founded in 1996 and stages comedies in the local dialect, usually every two years.

History
Early in 1996 six residents of Nisterau founded the theatre group "Die Akteure", with the aim of offering some diversion during the winter months and of cultivating the local dialect. Its first production, Eine Frau muss her, was staged in November 1996 and repeated two months later. In November 1999 the theatre association "Die Knollestromber" emerged from "Die Akteure". A 2002 press report, by contrast, gives 1995 as the founding year and counts five productions up to that point.

The name refers to the "Knollestromber", a part-time farmer who goes to the field with his Korscht (hoe) to break up large clods of earth; the association chose the figure as its symbol to express its ties to the Westerwald and its people. The group performed from 2000 to 2011, then paused for four years before returning in 2015 with Tante Trude aus Buxtehude.

Repertoire
The group performs comedies in the local dialect, Pöhler Platt. According to the municipality's page, improvisation after slips on stage has become part of its style.

Its roughly 20 active members build the stage, set and costumes themselves. In 2002 the municipality bought a raked stand for the hall for the performances of the group and of the children's and youth theatre "Hoppelpoppels".

Organisation
The children of the Nisterau kindergarten formed the theatre group "Die Hoppelpoppels", which presented its first piece, Isemir Hoppelpoppel, in March 2000. The 2002 press report describes it as the Knollestromber's youth troupe. In 2002 the Hoppelpoppels received a commendation in the district competition "Wäller Jugend hat Zukunft".
