The '''Theaterbrett'l 1993''' is an amateur theatre group in [[wikipedia:Munich|Munich]], Bavaria, Germany, which grew out of the Catholic parish of St. Klara in Zamdorf.<ref name="chronik" /><ref name="anfahrt" /> Since 1993 it has staged one comedy each autumn under the motto ''Herbstzeit ist Theaterzeit in St. Klara''.<ref name="ueber" />

== History ==
The idea arose on 28 November 1992, when a member of the second family circle (''Familienkreis'') of the parish of St. Klara proposed staging a play in the parish's new parish hall in autumn 1993. After the priest and the parish committees had agreed, a constituent meeting in February 1993 chose the play, the six players and the name ''Theaterbrett´l St. Klara''. The first production, ''Herz am Spieß'', premiered on 12 November 1993 and was followed by three more sold-out performances before a total of 500 spectators.<ref name="chronik" />

Audiences grew in the following years: about 800 spectators in 1995, more than 1,000 at seven performances in 1997, and 1,200 at eight performances in 2000, when the group also launched its website. In 2003 it set an attendance record of 1,305 spectators. In 2006 the group was renamed ''Theaterbrett´l 1993''. In 2007, its 15th season, it gave its 100th performance and welcomed its 15,000th visitor. After the resignation of its long-standing leader in 2011, his tasks were spread over a broader team; the leadership changed again in 2014. The group marked its 25th anniversary in 2017.<ref name="chronik" />

All performances in 2020 were cancelled because of the [[wikipedia:COVID-19 pandemic in Germany|COVID-19 pandemic]].<ref name="chronik" /> The group also cancelled its 2023 season, and in 2024 it cancelled the season because it lacked enough helpers for the stage, technology and catering.<ref name="spielplan" /><ref name="aktuell2024" /> In October 2026 it returned to the stage with the comedy ''Das Horrorkabinett'', presented under the name ''Die Brettlhelden''.<ref name="start" />

== Repertoire ==
The group stages only comedies, among them several Bavarian comedies and, from 2003, crime comedies.<ref name="ueber" /><ref name="chronik" /> It has twice performed plays by Peter Landstorfer, who attended the 2002 anniversary production ''Theater''.<ref name="chronik" /> There were no performances in 2020, 2023 and 2024.
