== History ==
On 15 January 1946, Hermann Conrektor, Hinrich Rechten and Erich Rathjen wrote to the military governor in Verden to found a Low German theatre club. The district administrator approved it on 7 February 1946, and the first board, with Hermann Conrektor as chair, was elected on 5 April 1946. In its first year the group played in Achim, Bierden and Bücken. Its 1950 programme included premieres of two plays by Erhard Asmus. The association was entered in the register of associations as Achimer Speeldäl e.V. in 1964.<ref name="chronik" />

The group has moved between several local halls. When the Schützenhof hall was demolished in 2002, it played in a school auditorium for a time, and since 2003 it has performed in the new hall of the Alter Schützenhof. In 1994 it gave the premiere of Christoph Weking's comedy ''Een Stück ut't Dullhus'' with the author present, and it marked its 50th anniversary in 1996 with Norbert Tank's ''Oh, oh, Onkel Ewald''.<ref name="chronik" />

== Repertoire ==
The association performs in Low German and also promotes the language through informal evenings, readings and songs. According to its chronicle, the founders hoped the theatre would help revive the language.<ref name="chronik" />
