The Allgäuer Theaterkästle Altusried e. V. is the association that runs the Theaterkästle, a small amateur theatre in Altusried in the district of Oberallgäu, Bavarian Swabia, Germany. Opened in 1985 in a converted former gymnasium, the theatre presents a full season each year from October to May, staged by local clubs, and runs without public subsidy.

History
According to the association, the Theaterkästle was founded by Altusried's amateur actors, who wanted to play more often than the large open-air productions of the Freilichtspiele Altusried, staged only every few years. Volunteers built the theatre in a former gymnasium, and the curtain rose on the first production in the 1985/86 season. Later alterations added a foyer, a rehearsal stage, new seating and a new façade.

By its own count the theatre had staged 245 plays in 2,910 performances for 451,035 spectators since 1985, with an average occupancy of 96%; the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons were cancelled entirely because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2025/26 season it reported 10,596 spectators at 66 theatre performances.

Repertoire
Each season comprises six productions with at least eleven performances each, ranging from classics and boulevard comedy to contemporary drama and children's plays. Matinées and readings are also held, and since 2019 the theatre has run its own small-scale arts festival, Gäste im Kästle. Each production is the responsibility of one of the member clubs; in 2025/26, for example, plays were staged by the Theaterkästle's own ensemble, the Theaterfreunde Altusried, the TSV Altusried, the U50 choir and the Chorgemeinschaft Altusried.
