The Aller Bühne e. V. is an amateur theatre group in Verden an der Aller, Lower Saxony, Germany. Founded in 2002 mainly by former performers of the Domfestspiele Verden, it stages a comedy each year at the Landhotel Zur Linde in the Verden district of Hutbergen.[1]

History

Most of the founders had acted in Verden's cathedral festival plays (Domfestspiele) and wanted to continue performing between festival years. After a series of planning meetings they decided in December 2001 to start their own group, and the association was founded in January 2002. The name combines the river Aller with the wish to be a stage "for all" (alle). The group engaged Uwe Pekau of the Waldau Theater in Bremen as its director and found a venue at the Landhotel Zur Linde in Hutbergen.[1]

Since its 2004 production Wo die Liebe hinfällt the group has also performed at other events in the Verden district. It gave its first guest performance in Kassel in October 2003, and later appeared at the Langwedel cultural days in 2005 and in Kirchlinteln in 2006 and 2007. The group sees itself as a leisure theatre for the years between the Domfestspiele, in which some of its members continue to take part.[1]

Repertoire

The group performs comedies, recently also a crime caper. Productions from its first years include:[2]

Productions[2]
Year Title
2002 Genug ist nicht genug
2003 Fach-Wechsel
2004 Wo die Liebe hinfällt
2005 Stunde der Wahrheit und andere Lügen
2006 Nun reicht's aber

Its current production is Arsène Lupin und das Collier der Königin, a two-act crime comedy by Atréju Diener loosely based on Maurice Leblanc's Arsène Lupin stories.[3] The Verdener Aller-Zeitung and other local papers have regularly reported on its productions.[2][4]
