Die Bühnenstürmer e. V. is a multi-generational amateur theatre group from Einbeck in the district of Northeim, Lower Saxony, Germany.[1] Active since 2004 under the motto "Theater für die Region", it has organised the annual Einbecker Zelttheater (tent theatre) since 2012 and also tours venues in South Lower Saxony.[2]
History
The theatre was initiated in 2004 by the director B. K. Jerofke, who was its artistic director in the following years.[3][4] By 2018 the group had staged 28 productions with more than 100 participants in over 200 performances; by 2019 the number had risen to 30.[5][6]
In 2012 the group started the Einbecker Zelttheater, held each summer in the garden of the La Casa on Köppenweg in Einbeck. Besides the group's own productions, its programme includes guest performances, concerts and readings; in 2013 the second Zelttheater opened with the comedy Erben sind keine Engel and offered twelve events, including an improvisational theatre guest performance.[7][8][4] In 2026 the 15th Zelttheater took place for the first time under a new tent, funded by the Landesverband Soziokultur Niedersachsen.[9]
Repertoire
The group stages comedies, crime plays, dramas, fairy tales and new works. Each year it produces a play mainly for adults, which premieres at the Zelttheater, and a family play rehearsed in autumn and shown from the beginning of the year, with young members in leading roles; smaller "studio pieces" with few actors can be booked for events.[2] The children's and youth group Die jungen Bühnenstürmer performs at the Zelttheater each year.[9]
