Theaterfreunde Forstinning e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Forstinning, district of Ebersberg, Upper Bavaria, Germany.[1] Founded in 1996, it stages comedies, crime plays, drama, dialect plays and children's and youth theatre, and also organises a Starkbierfest and a fairy-tale trail.[1][2]
History
In 1996 fourteen residents of Forstinning came together to found a theatre club; it was entered in the register of associations in 1998.[1] The first production listed by the group is the comedy Ois beim Teufel in spring 1997. In 2004 the group contributed a ceremonial play and a children's play to the celebrations of Forstinning's 1,200th anniversary. From 2005 to 2010 it took part in the municipality's Kulturwochen with children's plays, cabaret evenings and evenings dedicated to Karl Valentin and Heinz Erhardt; between 2008 and 2011 its improvisational theatre group Mundgeräusche performed. The first Starkbierfest, an evening of sketches with strong beer, was held in 2013, and the first Forstinninger Märchenwald, with fairy tales performed on the local nature trail, in 2016.[2]
Repertoire
The association usually stages one or two productions a year, in spring and autumn, ranging from Bavarian dialect comedies to classics such as Arthur Miller's Hexenjagd and Chekhov's Die Möwe, alongside children's plays.[2]
