Theatergruppe Guldental 2005 e.V. is an amateur theatre group based in Guldental in the Bad Kreuznach district, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.[1] It stages one comedy each year in November, usually in three performances on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.[2][3]

History

In early 2004, on the initiative of the landlord of a local inn, a number of residents met with the aim of forming an amateur theatre group. They chose the three-act comedy Lotti sieht Gespenster and rehearsed every Tuesday evening in a room in the old school in the Ortsteil Heddesheim, provided by the municipality. The first performance, on 19 November 2004 in the "Josefsheim", was sold out, and the play was repeated in early 2005 in the Protestant kindergarten in Guldental. The members then decided to found an association under the name "Theatergruppe Guldental", which was entered in the register of associations as a non-profit association, "Theatergruppe Guldental 2005 e.V.", on 7 December 2005. It soon had almost 40 active and passive members.[2]

The 2013 production was cancelled when it had almost been fully rehearsed. For the group's tenth anniversary in 2014 it staged Wer glaubt schon an Geister.[2]

Repertoire

The group describes its aim as offering popular (volkstümlich) theatre and giving local residents the opportunity to act.[4] Its repertoire consists of comedies, including farces and crime comedies, with one new production per year.[5] For 2026, performances are scheduled for 20 to 22 November.[3]
