Theaterverein Großkarolinenfeld e. V. (TVG) is an amateur theatre group in Großkarolinenfeld, district of Rosenheim, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1986, it stages one full-length Bavarian comedy each spring in the Max-Joseph-Halle.[1][2]
History
On 11 August 1986, 21 theatre enthusiasts met at the inn Alter Wirt to found a new theatre club. The idea arose after several performances of a one-act play, and was inspired by the memory of the Heimatbühne of the local young men's society, which had staged Bavarian plays from 1947 to 1955. Ernst Weinmar chaired the founding meeting and became the first chairman. With donations from residents and local businesses and help from the volunteer fire brigade, the club staged its first play, Franz Schauer's rural comedy Kurbetrieb beim Kräuterblasi, on 1 May 1987.[1]
Weinmar remained chairman until 2007 and directed most productions; under his successor Ludwig Härter membership grew from about 100 to about 180 by 2016. For the club's 25th anniversary in 2011 the author M. Trautmann wrote a play about Großkarolinenfeld, Boogie Woogie and Moor, considered the club's greatest success. Between 2004 and 2008 the members built a 160 m² storage barn on land leased from the municipality.[1] The club celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2026.[3]
Repertoire
By 2016 the club had staged 32 full-length plays, as well as several children's plays and one-act plays; some were written by the director Roman Hörfurter.[1] A children's group (TVG-Kids) was active in 2026.[3]
