History
Little about the group's early history has been published online. Its centenary was marked in January 2000 with a revue, 100 Jahre Vineta – von Null auf Hundert in 90 Minuten, at the Theater in der Passage.[2] The work of the "Theaterbühne Vineta" was studied over a long period for Berliner Kulturplätze 1: Theaterspielen nach Feierabend (1984). This publication by the Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst on self-organised cultural sites in Berlin includes interviews, a timeline and photographs.[3]
Repertoire
The group stages comedies, fairy tales for children and in-house productions, and since 2014 has repeatedly produced live radio plays on stage. Recent productions include The Canterville Ghost (2019), Hase Hase (2020), Dienstags bei Morrie (2021–2022), Der Vorname (2023) and, for the 125th anniversary in January 2025, Extrawurst.[2]
Venues
In recent years the group has performed mainly in the hall of the Neuköllner Oper in Neukölln. Other venues have included the Saalbau Neukölln, the Gemeinschaftshaus Gropiusstadt and the ufaFabrik, along with guest performances in Brandenburg. In 2017 it performed at the Spandau Citadel for the 125th-anniversary celebration of the Bund Deutscher Amateurtheater (BDAT).[2]
Organisation
The association is a member of the Verband Berliner Amateurbühnen e. V. (VBA) and of the Bund Deutscher Amateurtheater (BDAT).[1]
