History

The group was formed in early summer 2000 by Peter Oberrieder, a local man who until then had acted in the neighbouring village of Percha. Its founding party at the Gasthaus zur Post brought together 27 members, and in early September 2000 the club was entered in the register of associations. The landlady of the Post gave the club free use of the stage and a props room, and the mayor contributed 500 marks. The group's first appearances were one-act plays at local Christmas and birthday parties in December 2000; its first full production, the three-act comedy Kurbetrieb beim Kräuterblasi, followed in spring 2001 and had to be repeated several times.[1]

In 2004 Oberrieder handed the chair to Hildegard Zahn and continued as an actor. Until 2010 the group staged a play every year; the club names Kurbetrieb, Tratsch im Treppenhaus, Krach im Angerhof, Unguate Nachbarn and Der entführte Selbstmordeinbruch as its most successful. Together with the costume club König Ludwig Schloss Berg it also organised three Bavarian evenings combining one-act plays with folk and historical dances. The dress rehearsal is traditionally open to the village's senior citizens.[1]

Stefan Meisenzahl became chairman in 2015 and soon faced a serious shortage of male actors, which almost led to the cancellation of the 2016 production. After the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in membership left the group inactive for almost five years, it returned in 2024 with the farce Bodschamperlspuk in a full hall at the Gasthof Post.[1] In May 2025 Tobias Völkl was elected chairman.[3]

Repertoire

The group performs Bavarian comedies and farces. For the 2026/27 season it is staging Winnie Abel's Hairschaftszeiten, a modern reworking of Charley's Aunt, from February to March 2027.[4]
