History
In 2007 Melanie Benning and a founding team staged Peter Shaffer's Komödie im Dunkeln (Black Comedy), which the club regards as the start of its history. The group was initially organised and supported by the Catholic youth organisation KjG in the deanery of München-Giesing and became independent in 2009 as el teatro e. V. As a non-profit association it describes its voluntary work as a contribution to culture in the south of Munich; its logo is a footprint, reflecting its motto of "breaking new ground and leaving traces".[1]
