History
The teacher Werner Pohl founded the school theatre group Moskitos at the Jakob-Brucker-Gymnasium Kaufbeuren in 1997.[1] In 2002 some of its former members who had finished school formed the loose group of "old Moskitos" – Moskito-Oldies or Moskitoldies. As more school leavers joined each year, a non-profit association was founded in 2008. In 2013 the Moskitoldies were among the founders of the Theaterlandschaften Kaufbeuren, a loose alliance of Kaufbeuren theatre groups.[3]
Since January 2015 the association has owned its own clubhouse, which it renovated to provide rehearsal rooms and workshops; it has used it for workshops on rhetoric, stage make-up and stage fighting. Venue
