Training

The association's training covers classical, modern and jazz and contemporary dance; voice training, singing technique and ensemble singing; and acting basics such as facial expression, gesture, speech, improvisation and scene work. Building on this, members take part in smaller and larger stage projects. The association notes that for most members it is an active hobby, while some have gone on to artistic careers.[1]

Productions

Rock It!

TAMUTHEA developed a stage version of the 2010 German musical film Rock It!, about a 15-year-old girl preparing for the entrance exam of a music academy who joins a rock band. Two of the film's actors, Daniel Axt and Farina Flebbe, supported the rehearsals as patrons, and Axt eventually directed the production. The music was played live, with up to more than 80 participants in some performances, including members of the Berlin amateur theatres improPhil, Kleine Bühne Wilmersdorf, Die 2 and aToc, young rock musicians, the Kammerorchester Weißensee, the Schostakowitsch youth orchestra and several youth choirs. The young performers also worked on the sets and costumes in workshops.[2] The production was revived in December 2026 at the Centre Français de Berlin.[1]

Maskerade

Maskerade, a musical with music by Tom van Hasselt and book and lyrics by Matthias Busch, based on an idea by Anna-Katharina Friedrich, was premiered by TAMUTHEA in a production directed by Dominika Szymanska and Matthias Busch. It tells of a court that celebrates an endless masked ball and of the rebels who live outside it, and describes itself as a musical about a divided society, chosen families and blood ties.[3]

Organisation

TAMUTHEA has a youth council.[4] It is financed mainly by monthly membership fees and also accepts supporting members.[1]
