Alfeld macht Theater (also written Alfeld-macht-Theater) is an amateur theatre group in Alfeld in the district of Nürnberger Land, Middle Franconia, Germany. It was founded in 2013 after a one-act play performed at the village festival.[1]
History
The members had long thought about forming a theatre group. In 2013 they performed the one-act comedy Wenn Gerüchte Früchte tragen by Andrea Döring as a warm-up for the Alfeld village festival (Dorffest), and after the response they formally founded the group. Its monthly Stammtisch at the Gasthof Berghof, which the group describes as the driving force behind its work, has been suspended for the time being.[1]
After several one-act plays the group staged its first three-act play, Zimmer mit Frühstück. In 2018 it performed the one-act play Mann oh Mann at the bock beer festival of the Gesangverein Liederkranz 1903 Alfeld in the village's Volksmusikzentrum.[2] As of 2025 it was performing the three-act play Der Mann aus dem Internet.[3]
Children's theatre
The group takes part in the municipal summer holiday programme of the Happurg/Alfeld administrative community. In August 2019, for the third time, it brought in Frizz Lechner of the Nuremberg Theater Rootslöffel, under whom 20 children aged 6 to 14 rehearsed and performed a 30-minute vampire play in a single day, as reported by the Hersbrucker Zeitung.[2]
