Bunte Bühne Armsheim e.V. is an amateur theatre group based in Armsheim, Alzey-Worms district, in the Rhenish Hesse region of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.[1] Founded in 1992, it stages comedies, farces and crime comedies by international playwrights, traditionally with about five performances on the first weekends of November.[2]

History

The group was founded in 1992, growing out of a Christmas performance of Das Christkind mit der roten Nase at the local kindergarten. Its first production was Kille Kille the same year. In 1993 each of the players paid a founding contribution of 100 DM, which was repaid to the founding members in 1997. In 1994 the group performed a sketch for the opening of the Radsporthalle Armsheim and was entered in the register of associations. It joined the Landesverband Amateurtheater Rheinland-Pfalz e. V. in 1995 and set up a children's stage (Kinderbühne) in 1996.[3]

From the mid-2000s, young players from the group's youth stage (Jugendbühne) appeared in the main productions, first in Dem Himmel sei Dank (2005).[4] The chronicle lists no productions for 2020 to 2022; regular annual productions resumed in 2023.[3][5]

Repertoire

The group stages one evening-length comedy each year; several early plays were later revived.[3] In its early years it also gave guest performances in Saulheim and Flonheim.[3]
