D'Röhrmooser Theaterer (registered as D'Röhrmooser Theaterer e. V.) is an amateur theatre group in Röhrmoos in the district of Dachau, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Its lay players have staged Bavarian comedies, one-act plays and sketches in the village since 1969.[1]
History
Theatre in Röhrmoos began within the local Catholic young men's association (Burschenverein Röhrmoos-Schönbrunn), which held its first theatre evening at the Gasthaus Hagn in 1969. For the opening of the sports club house in 1975 members of the association built a demountable stage, which was replaced in 1988 by a permanent stage in the club house. On 15 January 2004 the theatre group, which had grown out of the association, constituted itself as a club of its own under the name D'Röhrmooser Theaterer.[2]
In the late 2010s the group lost its regular stage in the Bürgersaal of the Röhrmoos Haus der Vereine, which remained closed. At its annual meeting in February 2018 the chairman Otto Dörr described the situation as a threat to the village's theatre tradition; instead of a play the club staged revue evenings in the parish hall in 2017 and 2018. At that time the club had 37 members.[3] For the 2019 production, Ralph Wallner's three-act farce Gspenstermacher, the group moved to the Brummer-Saal in neighbouring Großinzemoos; the premiere was sold out.[4] No performances took place from 2020 to 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[1]
Repertoire
For its first two decades the group mainly performed one-act plays and sketches, often several in one evening; from 1989 it regularly staged full-length three-act farces in Bavarian dialect. Some early titles, such as Die Brautschau, Die kleinen Verwandten and Anderl's Christkindlwunsch, were revived in later years.[1]
