De Ammersee-Engel Inning is an amateur theatre group in Inning am Ammersee in the district of Starnberg, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Formed by members of the village's rural youth organisation (Landjugend), it has staged a full-length Bavarian comedy or farce every winter since 1989, performed in Inning's Haus der Vereine.[1]

The group grew out of the Landjugend Inning. In 1987 Karin Wittenberger, who had trained in ballet, rehearsed a men's ballet parody of Swan Lake with six young members for the Landjugend carnival ball; the same year members performed satirical Gstanzl songs at the opening of the Haus der Vereine. After two short plays, the Christmas piece 7mal der Weihnachtsmann and Klappe eins – bitte strahlen, the group attempted its first full-length play in 1989, Hans Lellis's farce Alois, wo warst du heute Nacht?. Only one performance had been planned, announced by word of mouth; because the hall was overcrowded, a second was added. Since then the group has concentrated on theatre and has continued to recruit younger players from the Landjugend.[2]
