The Heimattheater Donaumünster-Erlingshofen e. V. is an amateur theatre association from the villages of Donaumünster and Erlingshofen in the municipality of Tapfheim, Donau-Ries district, Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1980, it stages a comedy each winter in the Gasthaus "Zum Adler" in Tapfheim and has a youth group that performs at its annual St. Nicholas celebration.[1][2]

History

The local theatre association was founded on 8 June 1980 in the Kartäuser-Klause inn in Erlingshofen. Its 40th anniversary in 2020 could not be celebrated because of the COVID-19 pandemic; instead the association extended its website with descriptions and photographs of all its productions since 1980.[1] After Mucks Mäuserl Mord in 2020, the next production listed is Gleis Geisterei in 2024.[3]

Repertoire

The association performs Bavarian comedies and farces, usually around the turn of the year. Its youth group performs short Christmas plays, for example Der Wunschzettelkrimi by Martina and Veronika Uhl with ten children aged six to fourteen, at the association's annual St. Nicholas celebration at the shooting club's house in Donaumünster.[4][2] The 2026 production, Andreas Heck's two-act comedy Wellness, Wein und wilde Witwen, was adapted for the group by its chairman Alfred Burgetsmeier.[2] Another production was Achim Pöschl's three-act comedy Die Traumpaare von Dapfe, adapted from Die Traumpaare von Schwingötting.[5]
