The Holperdinger Beratzhausen – Katholischer Theaterverein e. V. is an amateur theatre association in the market town of Beratzhausen in the district of Regensburg, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. Founded on 3 March 2013 as a Catholic theatre association, it stages a production each autumn and runs a youth section.[1]
History
The association was founded on 3 March 2013; its first production, Mallefiz Donnerblitz, was staged from 15 November to 1 December 2013. Since then it has staged one main production a year, usually from late October to early November, apart from a break from 2020 to 2022.[1] From its founding, the association aimed to involve all age groups. Its youth group, the Junge Holperdinger (JuHos), premiered in 2015 with Weihnachten auf dem Dachboden and later staged partly self-written plays under Claudia Eichenseher, among them Pippi Langstrumpf (2019). As these young players had grown up by the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new children's group, the Holpi Kids, started in 2022 under Nicola Lehner-Kunz; it performs short plays at the annual Advent afternoons of the Beratzhausen library and, in 2025, staged Michel aus Lönneberga (after Emil i Lönneberga) in a barn at the Bernhof in Schwarzenthonhausen.[2]
