Hut ab Kultur- und Theaterverein e. V. (Hut ab e. V.) was an amateur theatre and cultural association in the Rosenheim area of Bavaria, Germany, founded in 2016. Rather than keeping a fixed ensemble, it worked in projects with changing partners, staging plays, concerts, exhibitions and art and dance projects.[1] The association has since been dissolved.[2]

History

The idea of founding a cultural and theatre association arose in 2012 among participants of a production of Die Schneekönigin after Evgeny Schwartz at the Theaterinsel Rosenheim, directed by Elena Weingärtner. After a theatre course in early 2016 the plan was taken up again, and the founding meeting was held on 25 September 2016 in the Berggasthaus Kraxenberger in St. Margarethen.[3] The first theatre project, Bunte Geschichten von Anton Tschechow, a series of short scenes by Anton Chekhov, was performed in the Lokschuppen at the end of June and the beginning of July 2017.[4] In 2018 the ensemble rehearsed Woody Allen's Tod (Death) under the direction of Sabine Langguth, with the premiere planned for November in the Vetternwirtschaft in Rosenheim; the association also organised acting courses with Elena Weingärtner, photography outings, regulars' evenings and its first appearance at the Türmefest in Brannenburg.[5]

The association's website now carries only a note thanking members and supporters "for 10 years of Hut ab e. V." and stating that the site is no longer available because the association has been dissolved.[2]
