The Weilheimer Kellertheater e. V. (Kellertheater der Evangelischen Apostelkirche Weilheim) is an amateur theatre group in Weilheim in Oberbayern, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1972, it has performed since 1980 on its own stage in the hall beneath the Protestant Apostelkirche in Weilheim, staging comedies and modern plays.[1]

History

The group was founded in 1972 by Heinz Günther, and its first production that year was a Christmas play. In 1979 it moved into the hall beneath the Apostelkirche, where members built a stage that was inaugurated in 1980. It received the cultural prize of the town of Weilheim in 1988 and 1994. In 2003 its youth group, the Kellerkids, gave its first performance with Tims Märchen.[1][2] In 2025 the group donated €1,000 to the Pfaffenwinkel hospice association and €500 to a local tree-planting initiative.[3]

The group's repertoire ranges from classic comedies to contemporary plays.[2]
