Munich Feminist Project

From Amateur Theatre Wiki

The Munich Feminist Project (MFP) is a feminist theatre collective based in Munich, Germany. It was founded in 2017 by Emma Filer and Sophia Gonzalez, following the 2016 United States presidential election.

The group first performed Rise Up: Feminist Voices Trump Hate at EineWeltHaus in Munich, where participants presented autobiographical monologues on experiences such as abortion, sexual assault, and everyday sexism. The event, initially intended as a one-off, led to the establishment of a collective that has since grown to around twenty members.

MFP produces performances that combine personal testimony with feminist perspectives. Works include The Things We Say at Einstein-Kultur, addressing microaggressions; Reframing — A Night of Untold Stories, which retold canonical narratives from a feminist angle; and Past the Noise at Pepper Theater, which returned to the format of collaboratively written monologues.

In addition to theatre, the group runs fundraising events, collaborates with local organizations, and participates in civic and educational initiatives. It works without regular funding or fixed rehearsal spaces, relying on small-scale events, volunteer labor, and informal networks.
