Myddelton Hall

Myddelton Hall in 142 Upper Street, at the corner of Wellington Street, now Almeida Street. It was the headquarters of the Barnsbury Literary Institute and Debating Society. The literary institute held its quarterly dramatic entertainment here and the hall was used several days per week for lectures, concerts and fund-raising bazaars by the Institute and various other local organisations. The venue was considerably rebuilt in 1891.

Performances

5 December 1879 - The "Owl" Dramatic Society host their fourth private performance in their second series here. They perform Tom Taylor's four-act drama Ticket-of-Leave Man and are accompanied by the society's orchestra.
