The Norderneyer Laientheater e. V. is an amateur theatre group on the East Frisian island of Norderney, Lower Saxony, Germany.[1] Active since 1951, it stages a summer comedy and a children's play in the island's historic Kurtheater.[2][3]
History
The group has performed since 1951 and marked its 75th anniversary in 2026; for that season's summer play, Life-Coaching oder Schönes Leben by Cathrin Glowania, each performance was preceded by a look back at its history with items from the theatre's wardrobe and prop store.[2]
Repertoire
The group's summer productions are comedies and crime comedies; its children's plays and musicals, some with live music by local bands and the Norderney youth choir, are aimed at young audiences and families.[3]
