The Laienspielgruppe s’Moosacher Brett’l e. V. is an amateur theatre association from the Moosach district of Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1982, it stages two plays a year, mostly comedies, boulevard plays and rural farces in Bavarian, at the St. Theresia training hotel in Gern.[1][2]
History
The Moosacher Brett’l was founded in 1982 as a non-profit registered association by members of the former Motorsportclub Moosach (MCM). According to its statute, its purpose is the cultivation of theatre, traditional customs and sociability.[1] In its early years the children of the active members rehearsed a play, usually at Christmas; as they grew up and joined the adult ensemble, the association founded its own youth group in 2010, which named itself De junga Wuidn and performs, among other occasions, at the Moosach district culture days.[3]
Repertoire
The group plays in spring and autumn, ranging from light comedy and fast boulevard plays to classic rural theatre, including well-known plays such as Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen; original plays are often translated from standard German into Bavarian.[1]
