s’Theaterbrettl Wolnzach e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Wolnzach in the Hallertau region, district of Pfaffenhofen, Bavaria, Germany. It grew out of a revue first staged in 1993, has existed as an association since 1995, and stages comedies, crime plays, fairy-tale plays for children and cabaret, usually with one main production a year.[1][2][3]
History
The group began in June 1993, when young people and young adults put together a revue, Thearett, for the inauguration of the parish hall in Wolnzach. Further Thearett programmes with texts and direction by Vitus Rebl followed in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1998.[2] The association celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2005 and its 30th in 2025, with the anniversary production Das perfekte Geheimnis directed by Rebl.[4][3] Besides theatre, it organises an annual folk dance evening, a children's carnival party and, in some years, a cabaret evening at the Wolnzach Starkbierfest.[1][5]
Repertoire
The repertoire consists mainly of comedies and crime plays, with fairy-tale productions for children, often as part of the municipal holiday programme. Most productions since 2006 have been directed by Vitus Rebl.[5][4]

Venue
By 2025 the association had been without a permanent playing space for more than ten years. As a temporary solution it used one third of the Siegelhalle in Wolnzach, the rest of which served as accommodation for refugees. In 2025 the group received a grant of about €65,400 from the European LEADER programme to separate its part of the hall with a wall and convert it into a permanent venue with stage, dressing rooms, catering area and toilets.[6] The conversion work was under way in 2026.[7]
