Spectaculum 04 e. V. is a youth theatre association in Vöhringen, Bavaria, Germany, whose members are children, teenagers and young adults from Vöhringen and the surrounding area. Led by Thomas Boxhammer, it stages a children's play with specially composed music every spring and a comedy for adults every autumn.[1][2] In 2023 it won first place in the children's and youth theatre category of the Larifari Bavarian amateur theatre prize.[3]
History
The association's aim is to introduce young people to acting.[2] Its first production was Jim Knopf in April 2005; since then it has staged two productions in almost every year, with no spring production in 2020 and 2021.[1] The group also produces radio plays (Hörspiele).[1]
Repertoire
The spring productions are fairy tales and adaptations of children's books, including several plays written by Thomas Boxhammer; the autumn productions are mainly British and American farces, especially by Ray Cooney.[1]
