TSV Brett'l (TSV Brett'l Eintracht Karlsfeld) is the amateur theatre section of the sports club TSV Eintracht Karlsfeld in Karlsfeld, district of Dachau, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Formed in 1972 by members of the club's handball section and officially founded as a section in 1980, it stages a comedy every autumn in the Bürgerhaus Karlsfeld.[1]

History

In 1972 Paul Kotzock, head of the handball section of TSV Eintracht Karlsfeld, rehearsed a sketch, Das gestörte Rendezvous, with fellow handball players for the section's Christmas party, the beginning of the theatre group. Its first three-act play, Der Zahnarzt, was performed in the Sportheim in 1975, and Kotzock also wrote plays for the group, such as Das Elixier (1979).[1] In 1980, at the suggestion of the mayor, the group officially joined TSV Eintracht Karlsfeld as the section TSV-Brett'l. When the Bürgerhaus opened on 18 December 1980 the group contributed a satirical sketch to the festivities, and on 11 April 1981 it gave the first play on the Bürgerhaus stage.[1] Kotzock died in November 1984. From 1987 the group also played at the Gasthof Böck in Unterbrunn, where each new production was first shown before moving to the Bürgerhaus.[1]

Repertoire

The section has staged Bavarian farces and, from the 1990s, mainly boulevard comedies. It has given guest performances in Austria and elsewhere, and since 2024 has offered acting workshops and, in 2025, a staged reading.[1][2]
