The Team Theater Holzkirchen e. V. (TTH) is an amateur theatre association in Holzkirchen, district of Miesbach, Bavaria, Germany. It grew out of an adult-education course in 1991 and stages one or two productions a year, ranging from classics and modern drama to comedies, since 2010 at the KULTUR im Oberbräu in Holzkirchen.[1][2]
History
The association arose in 1991 from a course of the local adult education centre (Volkshochschule) entitled "Introduction to the art of acting"; some participants decided to put what they had learned into practice, staged a first play and founded the association. After initial difficulties with rooms and actors, it was based from 1992 to 2009 at the Hauptschule Holzkirchen, and since January 2010 it has performed at the KULTUR im Oberbräu.[1] It celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016 with Liebst Du mich wirklich?, a scene montage written for the ensemble by its director Simone Birkner.[2] The association places great importance on youth work, involving many young people in acting and organisation.[1]
Repertoire
The repertoire combines classics – Shakespeare, Molière, Schnitzler, Horváth and Dürrenmatt – with modern drama such as Urs Widmer's Top Dogs and Theresia Walser's King Kongs Töchter, and with comedies and crime plays.[2]
