gruppo di grappa (Theater gruppo di grappa) is an independent amateur theatre ensemble from Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1995, it works with experienced directors and stages comedies, crime plays and contemporary drama at venues in and around Munich, among them the Pasinger Fabrik.[1][2]

History

Since its founding in 1995 the ensemble has staged numerous productions in collaboration with experienced directors.[1] Its early productions were often shown at the KUBIZ in Unterhaching. The Munich press noted that an amateur theatre such as gruppo di grappa "need not be smiled at wearily" (Münchner Merkur, 2003).[3] Its 2016 production of Urs Widmer's Top Dogs was nominated for the Heidelberger Theaterpreis. The city of Munich honoured the ensemble in 2005 and again in 2020 for its contribution to Munich's cultural life. In 2025 it celebrated its 30th anniversary.[1]

Repertoire

The repertoire includes British and American comedies and crime plays as well as contemporary drama.[3]
