Theater EIGENart e. V. is an amateur theatre group in the Regensburg district of Bavaria, Germany, based in Neutraubling. Formed in 2014, it played for many years in the Protestant Maria-Magdalena church in Burgweinting, a district of Regensburg, and now performs mainly in the Kulturhaus Neutraubling. Its repertoire includes comedies, classics, children's plays and plays written by its own members.[1][2]

History

EIGENart was formed in autumn 2014 by former drama pupils of the Realschule in Obertraubling and other theatre enthusiasts, under the direction of Eva Schon and Sabine Hrach. Its members on and behind the stage range in age from 10 to 70.[1] In 2019 the group marked its fifth anniversary with Thornton Wilder's Unsere kleine Stadt (Our Town).[3] After a pause in rehearsals, it contributed scenes to a concert programme of the ensemble Die Sirenen und Herr N. in 2021.[4] In 2022 it staged its first children's play, Otfried Preußler's Das kleine Gespenst (The Little Ghost).[5]

After more than ten years without a fixed legal form or a permanent venue, the group founded a registered association at its summer party on 9 June 2025.[6][7]

Repertoire

Several productions were written by members of the group, including Gerichtssache Luther (2017) and There is no Escape (2022), both by Sabine Hrach. There is no Escape follows several characters taking part in an escape-room event.[8][9] In November 2026 the group is staging Pippi Langstrumpf after Astrid Lindgren in the Kulturhaus Neutraubling.[10]
